Setting up in Private Practice
This workshop is made up of 2 complimentary days that combine to give a comprehensive experience.
Day 1 focuses on setting up as a Private Practice Therapist, exploring the principals of good practice, how to navigate initial consultations and contracting with clients, confidentiality and data protection, note taking and record keeping, clinical supervision, and the importance of reflexive practice. We will also explore which marketing and promotional methods might be most useful, and the importance of adhering to the Advertising Standards Agency's guidelines.
Day 2 focuses more on the practical business side of things, how to chose your business name, exploring the pro's and con's of various trading statuses available (sole trader, Ltd. LLP etc.) and how to register as such, basic book-keeping procedures, business banking, insurance, health and safety, tax, national insurance and VAT, start up and running costs, budgeting, and the importance of being ASA and GDPR compliant.
Each of the days is booked as a stand-alone 1 day workshop, to give 2 different yet complimentary perspectives to the question of how to set up in Private Practice.
Who are these workshops for?
These workshops are specifically designed for qualified or nearly qualified counsellors, psychotherapists or hypnotherapists, but may be equally useful to other professionals working in a similar or complimentary therapeutic field.
Each day begins at 9.30am and finishes at 4.30pm.
